Why do people reject science when the consequences of doing so are so severe with respect to climate change?

I can't understand why Republicans and others in politics reject the work of science even after all the scientific community has done for us as a nation. The areas where this community has been correct are overwhelming. Is this really a socioeconomic question if those in charge listen to what is now considered a fact of the modern world. They risk change which may cost them power, money and validity which they can never recover from? Or is this a religious question and does this issue threaten the Davine right of man to dominate the earth as it says in the bible? Is Joseph Campbell right? do we need a new religion that place respect for the earth at its core. The three Abrahmic religions are us versus them and us versus nature. Do these notions have to begin to decline before we cam deal with this issue? And will it be too late? How can one rationalize a planet with 7 Billion people on it, more than have ever lived here before, expect things to continue without repercussions?

Whan pre ordering from play.com when is the money taken from your account?

i pre ordered a dvd from play.com and im sure the money was taken from my account, but now that the dvd is released it is saying my card was declined, (all details are/were correct)

Buying pads and tampons?

When I buy pads or tampons I always go to one of the registers that have a girl cashier or I got to self checkout. Of course the first time I had to buy tampons I was glancing around every few seconds to see if I was getting funny looks. Lol. I buy U by Kotex mostly because a lot of the time I send my neighbor to the store to get tampons so I don't have to walk and that's the kind she buys. U by Kotex is always the really colorful ones you can't help but want to buy. Lol.

What do you think of this WWE storyline?

Not bad. I think anything is better than what the WWE will do (which is CENA WINS OVERCOMES ODDS OHMYGOD).

Send all scores or only the best?

For the ACT, I heard many different opinions regarding whether to send only your best score or all of them. Some say sending all of them is alright since colleges only want to see what you are capable of achieving and will consider the highest score. Others say that sending only the best one is better because when narrowing down applicants, colleges may consider the trend of the scores and a decline may make you less favorable than an improvement. Which is correct?

Is my girlfriend using me?

I have been dating my girlfriend for a little over two years now and everything has been great overall. I'm a college student that is about to finish my senior year of college and she is in the middle of obtaining her associates degree and my parents have warned me about my situation and for a while. Shes a great partner that supports me and she is a dependent woman that works full time as while I work part time till i finish my last two college semesters. Since the beginning our relationship, we have worked together and have had some great memories, but lately since she has been in school it seems like she has been asking me to help her alot with home work and other things. I wasn't really worried about my situation at first because we have a good connection and she doesn't ask me for money or anything. Our sex has also been on a big decline since i have been home for the summer for some reason, and when i politely talked with her about it and she said their was no problems. I know she is not cheating on me, but I am just wondering if she has been using me because she knows that I will soon have a strong career. I love her soo much and I feel that she loves me to but I just don't want to risk getting into a future marriage that is a yo-yo relationship. will someone please give a third opinion on my situation.. any type of advise would help!

Why if my air conditioner dial is set to 80, the air unit will not shut off until 75 degrees?

I live in an apt complex and it is an older thermometer for the central air. I have the unit set on Auto and on Cool, I slide the desired temperature to 80 degrees (and when the temperature reaches this it turns on the air unit) which will not shut off until 75 degrees, which can take a couple of hours? This does not seem right, I was under the impression that an air unit cools until the desired temperature of 80 is reached. Why is it going 5 degrees lower before shutting off, and why is it taking so long to turn off? Should I have it checked out, or do something different? Thank you.
