Hates butt thermometer in psych ward!!!?

Wen I had to go to the psych ward the doctor had to get the nurses to hold me down and take my vitals...since i was being combative and out of control the doc whispered something to the nurse and she lowered ny pants and he stuck a thermometer on my butt...do they always do this to patients?? What's so important about ur body temperature???
