Overheating mystery...?

If you have a new coolant temperature sensor the problem may be the need for a higher rated thermostat, believe it or not. The thermostat actually cycles the flow to keep your engine cooler, not to keep it hot (as most people think) It does hold the cycle to reach operating temp. then it opens to keep it between 185 - 195 by using a slightly higher rated thermostat it will allow it to run at the right temp. It is a good idea to have the temperature reading checked to see if it is right on with the gauge. You can also take it to the local car wash and spray wash through the front grill (gently to avoid damaging the condenser unit) to get rid of dirt and bugs that may restrict airflow. check to see all your fans are running when your have the AC turned on, this is crucial.
